Are strollers available for rent at the resorts?

Yes, the cost is $5USD per day.

Is it possible to have connecting rooms?

Your request for connecting room will be noted and we will do our best to accommodate you, however, confirmation is based on availability at the time of check-in.  

What is included in the All-Inclusive Plan?

National alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks as well as house wine house (red, white, pink and sparkling), meals at our five restaurants and room service.  Also, use of non-motorized beach activities (Kayak, boogie boards, paddle boards, etc.) and the Kid’s Club for children from 4 to 12 years of age. Are ‘Day Passes’ available for guests to visit the property for the day if they are attending weddings and other special events?

Yes, we have full day passes available at $107USD per person for adults over 18 years of age.  Partial day passes for lunch only (12:00 pm to 6:00 pm) are $55USD per person. Children pay less depending on their age (kids under 6 years are free, kids between 7 and 11 years are 50% off, and children between 12 and 17 years are 30% off).

What is the smoking policy at the resorts?

All guest rooms are non-smoking although there are designated outdoor areas where smoking is allowed. 

How can I book transportation from the airport to El Cid Resorts?

Transportation can be booked through Pronatours.

How can restaurant reservations be made?

Reservations can be made with the concierge team at the resort.

What is the dress code at each of the restaurants?

The dress code is casual, however, shorts, flip flops and bathing suits are not allowed.

What is the minimum age to book a room at El Cid Resorts? 

The minimum age is 18 years old, however, over Spring Break (February through March) the minimum age is 25 years.

What is the fee for Internet / WIFI at the resorts?

The cost is $60USD per week or $15USD per day for one device.

What type of identification is required to enter México? 

A valid current passport for all travellers.

Is it safe to eat and drink the water in México?

El Cid Resorts has its own purification plant, as do many restaurants in the main tourist areas, making the water safe to drink. Also, purified water and bottled beverages can be purchased in most small markets. 

Is an electric adapter necessary?

The electric current in México is the same as in the United States and Canada. 

May I use US or Canadian dollars (cash) to pay for merchandise or services? 

As of September 14, 2010, a new policy has been enacted affecting cash payments in foreign currencies. Please note that during your next visit to México, cash payments can only be made in Mexican Pesos. All other payment methods (credit/debit cards and travelers checks) will still be accepted where indicated.

El Cid Resorts maintains “exchange bureau” facilities in all of our six hotel properties located in Mazatlán, Riviera Maya, and Cozumel where you may exchange up to $1,500 USD per person in cash to Mexican pesos. We also have ATMs within our properties for withdrawals, and there is no restriction as to the amount of cash in Mexican pesos that a person can withdraw.

How does one dial to Cancún/Riviera Maya from the United States and Canada? 

To call direct dial 011 52 988, followed by the seven digit local phone number. 

Can I use my credit cards?

Most restaurants and larger stores will accept VISA, Mastercard, or American Express. Many smaller businesses will not so be sure to ask in advance.

It is safe to go cavern diving?

The easiest and safest way to go cavern diving is with a certified open water diver. You will not use a boat but dive directly in “cenotes” which are fresh water sinkholes. 

Where is the best area for snorkeling at the Mayan Riviera? 

Snorkeling is readily available at our hotel and all along the coast. Yal-Ku Lagoon, in Akumal, is well known for snorkeling as there are few people there.

What is the weather like at the Mayan Riviera?

The winters are sunny and mild, it begins to warm in March and the summer is typically hot and humid. 

Is there great fishing in Riviera Maya?

Puerto Morelos has fabulous sportfishing and boats can be chartered directly from the hotel at El Cid Marina Cancún. 

Is the hotel overlooking Puerto Morales National Reef Park? 

Yes, making the beach an ideal location from which to snorkel. Water shoes or sandals are recommended as the coral can be very sharp.

Is there shuttle transportation from the hotel to nearby sites? 

El Cid Resorts Pronatours offers airport transportation and numerous tours throughout the area. Local regulations disallow hotels from providing shuttle transportation in order to support the area’s taxi drivers.
