What type of identification is required to enter México ?

A valid current passport for all travellers.

Is it safe to eat and drink the water in México ?

El Cid Resorts has its own purification plant, as do many restaurants in the main tourist areas, making the water safe to drink. Also, purified water and bottled beverages can be purchased in most small markets.

Is an electric adapter necessary?

The electric current in México is the same as in the United States and Canada.

May I use US or Canadian dollars (cash) to pay for merchandise or services?

As of September 14, 2010, a new policy has been enacted affecting cash payments in foreign currencies. Please note that during your next visit to México, cash payments can only be made in Mexican Pesos. All other payment methods (credit/debit cards and travelers checks) will still be accepted where indicated.

El Cid Resorts maintains “exchange bureau” facilities in all of our six hotel properties located in Mazatlán, Riviera Maya, and Cozumel where you may exchange up to $1,500 USD per person in cash to Mexican pesos. We also have ATMs within our properties for withdrawals, and there is no restriction as to the amount of cash in Mexican pesos that a person can withdraw.

Can I use my credit cards?

Most restaurants and larger stores will accept VISA, Mastercard, or American Express. Many smaller businesses will not so be sure to ask in advance.

When should I travel to Mazatlan for Carnaval ?

Carnaval in Mazatlan typically takes place the week before Lent, and is the third largest in the world after Carnaval in New Orleans and Rio de Janeiro. This celebration features parades, special shows, and the coronation of the Queen of Carnaval.

What is the easiest way to get around the city?

Taxis and pulmonias (open-air taxis unique to Mazatlan) are readily available and reasonable, especially when you negotiate the price in advance. Buses run every ten minutes in the Golden Zone and stop frequently.

What is the best way to get from one El Cid resort to another?

El Cid Granada Country Club, Castilla Beach, and El Moro hotels are within walking distance of each other and the El Cid Country Club. However, a complimentary shuttle bus runs every fifteen minutes between these hotels and the El Cid Marina Beach hotel just five minutes away.

Does El Cid Resorts provide babysitting services?

Yes, upon request, and the El Cid Kids Club, based at the Castilla Beach hotel, is open until 10:00 pm.

Is there a business center at El Cid?
